Peugeot UK driver Kris Meeke delivered a string of fastest stage times on the closing day of the Sata Rallye Acores, round four of the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge, to take victory and the overall championship points lead.

The legendary Safari Rally - which gets underway on Friday - is confirmed as the third round of the IRC this year, providing an epic challenge to push drivers and cars to the maximum through the demanding gravel stages. Monte Carlo Rally summary

The Monte Carlo Rally, watched by seven million television viewers on Eurosport, was won by Sebastien Ogier (pictured), driving for the BFGoodrich Drivers’ Team in a Peugeot 207 S2000 run by Kronos Racing.

Ogier took the lead after the Skoda of Juho Hanninen retired on the first stage of the final leg. Hanninen’s Fabia S2000 had led from the opening morning all the way until the last stage of Thursday, when the Finn picked up a puncture five kilometres into the stage. more...
