Stars Continue To Line-up For Chatsworth

With just two days to go, stars past and present are still adding their names to the very impressive list of attendees at the 2010 Rally Show at Chatsworth this coming weekend (5/6th June).

HENNING SOLBERG, brother of 2003 World Rally Champion Petter and a regular on WRC events himself, will be helping JARI-MATTI LATVALA with the driving duties over the two days of the Rally Show. They will be sharing the BP Ford Abu Dhabi Ford Focus WRC 09 which M-Sport are sending down from their base at Dovenby in Cumbria. more...

Faro, Portugal — The Pirelli Star Driver programme moved on to the Vodafone Rally of Portugal this week, where all five crews made good progress on the hot and dusty stages inland from the event’s Faro base. Four of the five Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Xs made it to the finish at the Algarve Stadium this afternoon (Sunday), with only Ott Tänak failing to get through the final test. Ermelo, South Africa — The Sasol South African Rally Championship reaches the season mid-point on 29 May with the running of round 4, the Ermelo-based Rally of South Africa.

Pirelli Star Drivers Make 2010 Debut on Rally of Turkey

Istanbul, Turkey — The second year of the Pirelli Star Driver programme got underway on this week’s Rally of Turkey, with all of the drivers turning in encouraging times and New Zealand’s Hayden Paddon finishing highest of the five crews in the overall classification. Estonian driver Ott Tänak had set the pace for the first two days of the event, before crashing heavily on the final morning after running in the top 10 overall for the duration of the rally.

Nairobi, Kenya — Zimbabweans Jamie Whyte and Phil Archenoul extended their lead in the FIA African Rally Championship with a dominant win on the very muddy and mechanically demanding KCB Kenyan Safari Rally.

Whyte and Archenoul, the defending African Rally Champions, were in control from the word go, overcoming the horrendously wet and muddy conditions on Saturday to forge a healthy lead over their nearest rival, Jas Mangat, from Tanzania. more...
