PROTON Motorsports has announced it will contest the Super 2000 World Rally Championship in 2012 in addition to a full defence of its multiple FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship titles.

Team boss Manfred Stohl has highlighted Toshi Arai’s professionalism and experience as being key to his capture of the inaugural IRC Production Cup this season.

Patrik Sandell and co-driver Pär Almkvist have won the Rally Fogang, the final round of the 2011 Chinese Rally Championship, in the 2WD category.
