The Kick Energy Rally Team is all set and raring to go as the Kenyan National Rally Championship heads to Mombasa for the final event of the eight round series. With both team members, Peter and Alex Horsey, being born and based in Mombasa, this is very much their local event.

After suffering a set back with a broken engine in Kisumu Peter’s car, the spectator pleasing Moto Moto, has had a complete engine rebuild by MMSport and the whole team will be hoping for a good showing. Peter currently leads the SPV standings but is still yearning for his maiden outright victory. Dez Page Morris will co-drive in Car 3.

Peter said, "Moto Moto is back and ready to go. This car is loads of fun and finally I have the chance to show what it can do in front of my home crowd. To take the SPV title would be nice but to be honest I want podiums, and preferably the top step!"

Alex Horsey is still on a high after completing the recent East African Classic Safari as co-driver to Nick Mason. On his most recent KNRC event Alex had the pace to challenge at the front but a series of minor setbacks cost the ever smiling Alex time and he was relegated to fifth overall.

Currently sixth in the overall standings Alex will be hunting for his second podium of the year. Alex is joined in the Kick Energy Mitsubishi Evo X by close friend, and former Junior Motocross Champion Nick Dames.

Alex said, "After two weeks of co-driving I have gained new found respect for navigators. Now I switch back to the driving seat and am looking forward to driving the Evo X again. Nick has never co-driven before but he is a fast learner and is really keen to learn."

The KCB Mtaani Rally takes place over the weekend of 10th and 11th December 2011. Scruitineering is from 12 noon on Saturday at Kenya Railways in Mombasa.. The ceremonial start will be on Sunday morning from 07:00 as the cars get flagged away from KCB Mariakani before tackling a number of high speed special stages in the surrounding area. The ceremonial finish is expected to take place from 5pm the same afternoon.
