Evening for the last time from Ojibwe Forests Rally. What an eventful day and what a rally this was.
Due to our car not being able to turn the engine, we didn't enter the regional portion of the rally on Saturday, but instead packed our things and went out to the stages. Most of the crew went to spectate while I stood with Adam Markut crew waiting for him at the service in Osage.
Andi Mancin who basically had to rebuild his engine in the parking lot at Parc Expose in the morning came into service on three wheels and a blown turbo pipe. Because of that he did give away his third spot to...Adam Markut. Yes! The '92 Talon placed third overall. We thought: "well, great, but it's not going to last once they fixed Mancin's car."
We were right, but what we did not expect was for Dave Mirra to stop on SS13 with a repeat of his shakedown problems. This brought two Polish teams on the overall podium for the first time ever, SP car on the overall podium for the first time ever and a 1992 Talon makes it to an overall podium! I think this was a very impressive drive by Adam and his co-driver Chris Gordon.
Andi Mancin gets second and keeps fighting for a second spot in the championship, while TP secures his 4th consecutive Rally America series title.
For us this was the event that we sure want to quickly put behind us.
I would like to end this weekend of blogging here on WRS with a big thank you to World Rally Sport for great coverage of the rally and hope for future expansion.
I also would like to thank our sponsors for this event: White Frog Entertainment, as well as Motul Lubricants and our supporters Arlington Collision Company and Excel Properties.
Again, thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed these few words throughout our four days up here in Minnesota.
Till the next one!
