Bemidji, MN, USA — Hello all, glad you got few minutes to read my daily blog from Ojibwe! Let me start off with a big thank you to the World Rally Sport crew for having me blog on the WRS website from Ojibwe. The site is getting better and better and their coverage of US events is great. We are proud to join their team for round 7 of Rally America series.
So, we are in Bemidji, MN. Beautiful lakes and great roads around them that we will have a privilage to use this weekend. This is my second visit to this rally. Did not have much luck as we DNF from the event on the first stage on Saturday.
For Peter, 2008 Ojibwe Forest Rally was one of the best ones in his career. With Chrissie Beavis in the right seat, Peter achieved fourth place overall. He likes this event a lot and this is where his rally career began.
This year is different for both of us here. We are coming in the lead of Super Production class with high hopes to get closer to securing the championship, but our competitors are not going to snooze here.Dave Mirra always keeps very close to us. His 2008 STI gets better at every event plus a huge experience of Derek Ringer helps him a lot I'm sure.
Pat Moro was really quick at STPR and his late entry here may surprise some people again. Peter's team mate from Team USA in Mexico earlier this year will be another driver to keep a close look on. The person who we'll watch the closest will be Jimmy Keeney. Second place in the SP championship so far with his home event only a month away makes him the person to watch at this event.
Three rounds to go in the championship. We will fight to earn that first title in the SP history. Check back tomorrow for day two of Ojibwe blog entry after shakedown.
The WRS crew has a lot of things planned for you fans!
