Evening boys and girls. I think by now you've already heard about our day at Ojibwe Forests Rally. In case you didn't here it is...
Let me start off with saying that video recce, although might work for some guys, it doesn't for me. Piotr thinks it's better than not seeing them roads at all, but watching it on the flat screen doesn't cut it for me. We did it anyway and made some very minor changes in the notes.
At 4:30 pm competitors started Super Special stage in reverse order and we won another bet with Mr. PMR Motorsport on the winning SP time and we took an early lead into the rally. This did not last as long as we would wish...
SS2, about 2.0 miles into the stage, we started loosing power and shortly after we had a huge cloud of smoke behind us. Yes, we blew a turbo... And stopped 2.7 miles into the stage. Had to put out a small fire from under the hood and had no choice, but give up and pull out triangles out. It was a devastasting feeling and still is. We came here for another win in SP and with a chance for a podium overall. These dreams were crashed very early. So far up to that point on the stage things were going great. We really got back on the pace and clicked back on.
As I write this our crew is swapping the turbo and checking for any further damage. If everything works out well we will most likely enter a regional event tomorrow for testing / practice purposes.
Very disappointed, but this is rally. Stuff like this happens...Stay tuned for more.
