Hey Everyone,
I was just surfing the rallybc site and noticed that we have not had a copy of airtime come out for almost 2 years now! That was before I really got into the club and I was wondering what happened to it? Was it funding or just general lack of interest. I think it was an awesome thing to have going on, and I would love to work on it, it was just a lack of interest, however I would need someone to help me with the design/ layout.

I am not to sure what brought it down Nicki, you should ask around and maybe someone in the organization will be able to give you some good feedback on it. Let me know what you find out.

According to a couple of people, it crashed due to lack of time. It was suggested that we have a web based version instead that is updated quarterly. It would be easier to maintain/ cheaper to distribute. If we got a web based version, it could be awesome, there are lots of people who I'm sure would be willing to contribute, and write up pre-event articles. With all the events through the WCRA, IRC, and people who travel to other local events, we could have tons of material.
Talk to me at PFR Chris- I've got some ideas to throw around.

Sounds a lot like what World Rally Sport offers. That is the inherent beauty of what World Rally Sport does. It caters to the local sporting communities around the world. It is a place where racers, organizers, fans can come together and publish their content and promote their sport. :)

I'd love to get in on this discussion too and hear your ideas about this topic, Nicki! Reviving Airtime sounds like it could be very beneficial and is exactly what World Rally Sport is capable of doing for the WCRA as well as clubs all over the country and throughout every region of the world.
I've got some ideas on what we can do to get this going again in full force!
...Just curious...what brought this concept to surface and who else has expressed interest in it so far?

Find me when you get into town. I'll probably be at the Middlesburough at some point tonight. I have a room at the Ramada, so I should be on rally grounds for the entire weekend.
Give me a shout- I also have some awesome ideas about "mixing it up" (250)575-3831

I have no issues taking over Airtime, and doing what I need to in order to make it fly. I have been talking to the guys at worldrallysport.com, and they want to help me bring out a 3-4 page monthly e-magazine. In airtime I would like to see promotional blurbs for upcoming stage/TSD/rally X events, and have write ups from spectators/ marshals/ organizers/ competitors about the last few events with thoughts/ improvements/ and credits deserved. I think by having something smaller, we could produce it cheaply, and be able to get it out to the general public easier, then having a fully magazine published. By having it in e-format such as a adobe file, people can e-mail it to friends, post it on blogs, and we can do what we can to get it out to the people who are not in the community yet.
All I would ask of the general public is for organizers to write pre-event blurbs about location/ and things that make that event great. Also from everyone who attended, little blogs about their experiences there. It should be a means to communicate with everyone. I would also love to see people from Alberta/Washington submit articles about their times at BC Events.
In order to submit something it would need to be at least 2 paragraphs long, but not mega high quality. I just want to see people have a way to express themselves, and be able to get their thoughts heard.
Anything we can to do keep rally promotion strong, I believe we should support it.

Lets get it on! Spread the word, get the sign-ups rolling and we will build the mailing list and get her up and kicking "flat-out" rally style.:)

I'm thinking give out tons of copies at the CARS AGM, and T-bird, that is a huge local/ Canadian contact there. We should get something set up on the site "WRS Airtime coming January 1st, sign up here to get on the mailing list" With just a name/ e-mail sign up list, that way we can start an automatic distribution once a month.
