He will either win it or DNF trying to win it - its the style we have come to learn and love from Mr. Block.
I hope he does well, I like to see good competition in the overall standings and it would be a nice shake up to see the new Ford hit the podium.
That being said best of luck to all competitors!

Can't wait to see what happens! And the pic/video fallout that will ensue. Gravel events make for more prettyful shots, IMO.

Im hoping to make it out there for the saturday stages. It will be a long drive from NYC right after work on Friday, but i think will be worth the effort to see the rally in person for the first time.
Frank/Chris you guys going to be there?

Ken Block attempting 5-peat at 100 Acre Rally in new Ford Fiesta [w/video]
http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2010/02/01-block-fiesta-testing-feb-630op.jpg
Ken Block and his co-driver Alex Gelsomino are headed back to the 100 Acre Wood Rally this weekend in an attempt to dominate the race for the fifth consecutive year. However, the major difference is what the gravel-bound duo are driving: The #43 Monster World Rally Team Ford Fiesta.
After a suspension issue resulted in a DNF for the team at the Sno*Drift rally earlier this month, Block and Gelsomino are out to prove the Fiesta is up to the task of beating snow, gravel and ice into submission. To that end, they headed out to SayersBrook Bison Ranch this week to give the Fiesta a proper shakedown ahead of the event, and you can check out the results in the video after the jump.

Shakedown Drama in Salem - Friday, February 26, 2010
Several teams ran a practice stage this morning outside of Salem from 8:30 to 10:00 am Central and are now gathering in Steelville for Parc Expose. Andrew Comrie-Picard (Car #20) blew his engine during the test and may not be able to start. Evan Cline (Car #669) split his Mitsubishi GSX’s oil pan, but has since repaired it and is expected to compete. No formal withdrawls have been made.

 I thought Andrew had gotten past this stuff? I think (literally) he has blown the most motors out of anyone in North America in the past 3 odd years!

Day 1 wrap up News:
After the first day of the 100 Acre Wood Rally, Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana sits in the overall lead, 22 seconds ahead of Rockstar Energy Rally Team’s Antoine L’Estage. Canada’s L’Estage lost ten seconds to Pastrana after suffering a flat on SS1 and will be pushing to catch him on tomorrow’s stages.
Ken Block is campaigning a new 2011 Ford Fiesta with the Monster World Rally Team and currently follows in third place, 46 seconds behind L’Estage.
Block has been outright dominant at this event in the past, having won the 100 Acre Wood Rally four times in a row. He is seeking a “one for the thumb” win here to even the score with Pastrana for the Rally America Championship lead. Many consider the roads of Missouri to favor Block’s “flat out” driving style with long straights and sweeping turns.

Ford Fiesta takes its 1st win
Ken Block Wins His Fifth Consecutive 100 Acre Wood Rally ! :D
http://www.rally-america.com/contents/photos/article_cache/605.1_300.jpg
Ken Block and Alex Gelsomino of the Monster World Rally Team have claimed their fifth consecutive 100 Acre Wood Rally win. Block drove the Open Class Ford Fiesta to victory despite having a tough first day and starting the second leg over a minute behind rally leader, Travis Pastrana. The Ford driver was able to gain some ground after Antoine L’Estage dropped to third place due to a water crossing visibility issue and a puncture on the second stage of the day.
Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana held a fast pace and a comfortable lead over Block and L’Estage until Pastrana broke his car’s left rear control arm on the Super Special Stage in Potosi and was unable to continue.
With Pastrana out of contention, L’Estage pushed to catch Block and posted comparatively close stage times with him, but Block was able to maintain his lead to the end.
An ecstatic Block said, “This is the location of my first national rally win, so I have now won this rally five years in a row and it is a pretty good feeling to get the Fiesta home in first.”
