Bogie Continues Leading the Points After Jim Clark Win

David Bogie and Kevin Rae took an emphatic victory on the Jim Clark International Rally this weekend, extending their lead at the head of the Dulux Trade MSA British Rally Championship by five points.

The Scots’ win on home asphalt was particularly special; Dumfriesshire based Bogie stating that he has wanted to win the International event for several years. It is testament to the challenge that faces crews on rounds of the BRC, that he and Rae already have two wins on the National event to their credit so the win here completes the set. more...

Oregon Results to Remain Provisional Until Protest Ruling

The results of the 2011 Oregon Trail Rally will remain provisional pending a decision by a RallyCar Protest Committee about a protest filed by the Super Production team of Travis and Terry Hanson. The Hansons claim that Ramana Lagemann and co-driver Chrissie Beavis received an unfair advantage as a result of conditions created by possible organizer error. more...

David Higgins Wins Oregon Trail and Takes Points Lead

Portland, OR, USA -- Subaru Rally Team USA’s David Higgins and co-driver Craig Drew took a commanding win at the Oregon Trail Rally, round four of the 2011 Rally America Championship. Higgins finished 3 minutes 26.9 seconds ahead of rival Antoine L’Estage and won ten of the fifteen stages. It was a tight battle with David Higgins but the Mitsubishi Rockstar crew of Antione L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard suffered three tire punctures in a row on day two, which cost them the chance to keep pace with Higgins. more...

The Citroën Total World Rally Team crew of Sébastien Loeb and Daniel Elena claimed their fourth victory in Rally Italia Sardegna today. The crew outpaced their rivals and finished 11.2 seconds ahead of the Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team pairing of Mikko Hirvonen/Jarmo Lehtinen, with Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson coming home in third position, their first podium of the season. more...

Another Boost for the WRC as Volkswagen Signs Up

Today’s news that Volkswagen will be returning to the FIA World Rally Championship from 2013 has been heralded by the series promoter as further proof of the increasing value of the sport to manufacturers and its relevance to their production cars.

At a presentation in Olbia, Sardinia, earlier today, Volkswagen confirmed a five-year commitment to the WRC with its first full campaign coming in 2013 following an 18-month period of testing and development. more...

Ocean Shores, WA, USA -- Subaru Rally Team USA’s David Higgins and Craig Drew of the United Kingdom were declared the winner of the shortened Olympus National Rally, finishing Stage 6 with a 15 second lead over the second place Rockstar Mitsubishi crew of Antoine L’Estage and Nathalie Richard. Subaru Rally Team Canada driver Pat Richard of Squamish, British Columbia completed the overall podium. Tragic Accident Occurs At Olympus Rally

On Saturday, April 30th, tragedy struck the close knit rally racing community during the Olympus Rally based in Ocean Shores, WA.

31-year-old driver Matthew Marker of Elk Rapids, MI did not survive injuries sustained in a racing accident. Marker was in his fifth year of participating in the Rally America National Championship and was a popular driver among his peers. Marker was known to have ambitions of improving his Championship standings and taking part in building the sport’s popularity. more...
