Paddon Celebrates PWRC Title With NZ Tour

Hayden Paddon has made history as the first New Zealander to win a world rally championship and he’s taking to the road to celebrate with Kiwi fans up and down the country.

Paddon won the Production World Rally Championship category at four consecutive rallies – another record-making achievement – on his way to securing the championship title.

New Date for International Rally of Whangarei 2012

The International Rally of Whangarei will open both the national and Asia Pacific rally seasons in 2012 with the event scheduled to run from 30 March to 1 April.
 
The March-April dates are three months earlier in the year than recent years when the highly-regarded international motorsport event has typically taken place in June or July on roads around the Northland and Kaipara regions. Therefore both the 2012 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) and the 2012 New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC) will feature The International Rally of Whangarei as the first round.

Rally Barbados Offers Prize to Roger Albert Clark Winner

The Barbados Rally Club (BRC) has made an early start on its International promotion for Sol Rally Barbados 2012 (June 9/10) by announcing that the winners of next month’s Roger Albert Clark Rally, Britain’s most demanding historic event, will receive an expenses-paid trip, valued at US $9,000 (around £5,600), to compete in the Caribbean’s biggest annual motor sport international. more...

Deegan Joins Pastrana for Race of Champions

Team USA will have a unique line-up of two action sports legends for the 2011 Race Of Champions after Brian Deegan signed up to race alongside Travis Pastrana, who was confirmed last month.

Known as ‘The General’, Deegan made history and pioneered what is now known as freestyle motocross by “ghost riding” his bike across the finish line at the LA Coliseum in 1997 – astonishing the crowd, stunning the AMA officials, and setting in motion a new breed of competition. Kopecký Remains Unsigned for IRC 2012

Jan Kopecký wants to chase Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory again next season but admits he’s currently unsure whether or not he will get the opportunity to do.

The Czech star finished runner-up in the IRC drivers’ standings for a third season in a row this year in his ŠKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000.

“Of course I would like to do another year but I’m not sure where I will be next year because I don’t have a contract at the moment, we will see,” said Kopecký, a winner of two IRC rounds in 2011. more...

Rogers Conquers Rally GB

Will Rogers put all his co-driving experience to good use at the weekend to complete his first ever international event, Wales Rally GB. The 22year old, competing alongside Becky Kirvan in the Cristal Global backed Ford Fiesta, took to the world stage to contest the five day epic in the final round of the World Rally Championship.

“It’s completely different to anything else I’ve done.” said Will. “It’s like contesting a national event every day for five days on the trot – you’ve got to think about playing the long game if you want to finish.” more...
